This sculpture was created for the 2017 Farm Project, an annual sculpture exhibition on a cattle farm in Putnam County, NY (https://www.collaborativeconcepts.org/). The hilltop location and presence of cattle and their waste led me to thinking about heaven and earth metaphors. Zeus, king of the heavens, took the form of a bull and golden coins to seduce earthly women. A gilded cow pie came to mind. Soon, the connection with our Zeus-impersonating president-developer and his gilded b.s. became obvious.
